Lost wax precision casting, also known as investment casting, is a manufacturing process widely used for producing complex metal parts with high dimensional accuracy and fine surface finishes. This method involves creating a wax pattern that is a replica of the desired final part, coating it with a refractory ceramic material to form a mold, and then melting away the wax to leave a cavity into which molten metal is poured.
Products Description
This is a Lost wax precision OEM invest casting part manufacturers, we manufacturer it as per customer's drawings. we are an factory engaged in investment casting of stainless steel valves, fittings, coupling and varieties of parts in Plumbing, Electrical Engineering, chemical industry, Machinery and medical treatment.
A wax pattern is made using a die or by hand. This pattern is an exact replica of the part to be produced.
Multiple wax patterns can be attached to a wax tree or sprue to allow for the simultaneous casting of multiple parts.
The wax patterns are assembled onto a sprue to form a tree-like structure. This assembly will form the pathways for the molten metal to flow into the mold cavities.
The wax assembly is repeatedly dipped into a ceramic slurry and coated with fine sand. Each coat is allowed to dry before the next is applied.
This process is repeated until a thick ceramic shell has formed around the entire wax assembly.
The ceramic-coated wax assembly is placed in a kiln or autoclave where the wax is melted and drained away, leaving a hollow ceramic shell.
The ceramic shell is then fired at a high temperature to remove any remaining wax and to harden the shell.
Molten metal is poured into the pre-heated ceramic shell. The shell's high temperature ensures that the metal flows smoothly into all parts of the mold, reducing the risk of defects.
Once the metal has cooled and solidified, the ceramic shell is broken away, revealing the metal castings.
Any remaining ceramic material is cleaned off, often using a mechanical or chemical process.
The individual cast parts are cut from the sprue.
Additional finishing processes such as grinding, polishing, or machining may be performed to achieve the desired dimensions and surface finish.
